The Dreaded IPS (In-Person Sales)
In-Person Sales
You know it’s out there.
You know you should do it.
You even know WHY you should it. I’d ask the obvious question “then why aren’t you” - but we know why.
A) It’s scary
B) It’s time consuming
C) Oh, yeah, it’s scary.
It also used to be expensive! But since the industry standard for in-person sales software TimeExposure (Pro Select) transferred to a pay-as-you-go program, the cost is no longer a barrier. It used to cost a not-so-measly $800 for the basic program with a slew of addons for additional cash. Now it runs a mere $30 a month.
I know what you’re thinking…”Even if an in-person sales software is affordable I still have to do my sales IN PERSON!”.
I used to get nervous before an in person sales appointment and you probably will too. But I’m here to tell you - it goes away. Especially when you see a very sudden and very drastic increase in your sales average. Talk about MO-TI-VA-TION!
Only by being there can you counsel your client to buy the right product for the right picture.
Only by being in the room can you counsel your client to buy the right product for the right picture in the right size. No amount of attached notes is going to convey how A-MAZ-ING those deep rich colors are going to look on metal. And really, who’s going to buy a 24x36 metal art piece of smash cake photo, unless you’re there to suggest it? We both know they would have bought the 8x10 print from the back end of your website because it was normal and safe. But, with some friendly in person advice your clients will be more likely to trust the professional and order something out of their 8x10 comfort zone.
Your Work. Their Walls. No Mistakes.
Getting clients out of their comfort zone is where TimeExposure (Pro Select) really shines. Pro Select has a secret weapon called Roomview. It allows you to load pics of your clients’ livingrooms into the software. From there you can display your images on their wall…to scale. Nothing will increase sales like showing a client what an 8x10 looks like on their wall, floating in a sea of negative space. We tell our clients that this is the best way to design wall collages that will look great in their homes without making mistakes. If the images are too big or too small we’ll know right away.
I can tell you that the day we switched to using TimeExposure (Pro Select) and in person photography sales we TRIPLED our sales average.
Over the years because of that increased sales average we have been in a much better place financially. We were able to improve our studio, which improved our clients experience and in turn it improved our quality of life. You owe it to yourself to take control of your financial situation by taking control of the sales process. Remember ‘Starving artist’ shouldn’t be a badge of honor.
